      <title>Natural Born Loser in Concert</title>

      <description>&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.peterkis.com/Photography_by_Peter_Kis/Home/Entries/2008/8/16_Entry_1_files/steep-6.jpg&quot;&gt;&lt;img src=&quot;http://www.peterkis.com/Photography_by_Peter_Kis/Home/Media/steep-6_1.jpg&quot; style=&quot;float:left; padding-right:10px; padding-bottom:10px; width:364px; height:242px;&quot;/&gt;&lt;/a&gt;The local band “Natural Born Loser” celebrated their new album “Cold Days &amp;amp; Whisky” and the formation’s ten year anniversary at this year’s “Kreuzlinger Kulturwochen” in an old circus tent on the shore of Lake Constance. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;As the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 VR, which would have been predestined for shooting the gig, is in short supply, I had to settle for the only tele lens I could find on short notice - a Sigma 120-400mm 4.5-5.6 OS. Clearly not the perfect glass for low-light shootin and a deviation from my nikon-only policy. I decided to make the best of the situation and see whether the D3’s high-ISO miracle + the Sigma’s OS would let me get away with it. Turns out - it did! I didn’t have to use the 24-70mm 2.8 I had brought for emergency purposes at all - the Sigma performed like a charm and since the D3 gave me near noise-free images at ISO 3200 I took some of my best ever event shots this evening. You can find some of them in the events section. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;</description>

      <title>Reflections on the lake</title>

While the weather spoiled the fireworks I got a chance to capture the melancholy on the shores of Lake Constance the following morning. I took this picture facing towards the island of Reichenau early in the morning on August 2. </description>

Die familiäre Natur des Anlasses machten ihn aber auch in diesem Jahr zu etwas besonderem. </description>
